Program Information

The Corporate course examines the various types of business ownerships. The course places particular emphasis on the following topics: the corporate and administrative procedures involved in preparing and filing articles of incorporation; organizing a corporation by way of a minute book; preparing and filing relevant incorporation-related documents that relate to the composition of a corporation i.e. articles of amendment, annual returns, extra-provincial filings, and dissolutions; financing issues and relevant searches; and share purchase agreements. In this area of law, students should be familiar with the Act(s) governing the formation and operation of a corporation. This course is especially appropriate for those currently employed as law clerks or experienced legal assistants.

The Corporate course is offered annually and this time around will run from February – end of May.

Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. Classes will not be recorded. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis.

Course Fee: $450.00 +HST. The Corporate Associate Syllabus is included with course registration.

Important Information: The exam registration is separate from the course registration. Registration for each exam will open in advance of the exam date. Please check the website for updates or email education@ilco.on.ca.

There is no post-exam review and appeal process for exams.

ILCO is pleased to offer the Associate Corporate Course via live Webinar sessions. The Corporate course runs 16 weeks and starts Wednesday February 4th, 2026 - May 27th, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. 

Please note there will be no class on March 18th, 2026.

Exam and Refund Policy 

You may withdraw from the exam up to fourteen (14) days prior to the exam date.

Examinations cannot be rescheduled under any circumstances. Course fees are non-refundable beyond the withdrawal deadline indicated on the registration page. Additionally, course and examination fees are neither transferable nor deferrable to future sessions.
