Program Information
This course deals with the preparation of will, powers of attorney and the administration of estates. This includes the collection, realization and management of the assets of the deceased and after settlement of the debts of the estate, the payment of legacies and the distribution of the residue to the beneficiaries. Knowledge of the documents to be filed to obtain the required court grant of letters testamentary, preparation of estate accounts, administration of ongoing trusts and the preparation of income tax returns, and estate related litigation are all areas associated with this field. This course is especially appropriate for those currently employed as law clerks or experienced legal assistants

Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. Classes will not be recorded. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis.
Course Fee: $450.00 + HST. The Estate Associate Syllabus is included with course registration.

ILCO is pleased to offer the Associate Estates Course via live Webinar sessions. The Estates course runs once a week for 16 weeks and starts Tuesday February 3rd, 2026 - May 26th, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Please note there will be no class on March 17th, 2026.

Exam and Refund Policy:
You may withdraw from the exam up to fourteen (14) days prior to the exam date.
Examinations cannot be rescheduled under any circumstances. Course fees are non-refundable beyond the withdrawal deadline indicated on the registration page. Additionally, course and examination fees are neither transferable nor deferrable to future sessions.
