Program Information

Fellowship courses are in-depth, advanced level and are recommended for those persons with a minimum of five (5) years clerking experience. These courses examine a specific substantive area of law. Students write an exam at the conclusion of each course and must receive 60% or higher for successful completion. A certificate of recognition of this academic achievement is provided.

ILCO is pleased to offer the Fellowship courses via live webinar via Zoom. Exams must be written online with ILCO's proctor. ILCO issues a grade report within 90 days of the exam date. 

Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. Classes will not be recorded. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis.

Exam Policies

Exam Format

All Fellowship Examinations are closed book and written with a web-based proctor.

Exam Criteria

The exam is scheduled for two and one half (2 ½) hours. The exam is worth 100 marks. Question types may include multiple choice questions, true/false questions, matching questions, short answer questions, brief case scenarios, account entries based on short fact scenarios and/or calculations. A simple calculator is permitted. Cell phones may not be used as calculators

Exam Results

Student grades will be available on the ILCO Portal within ninety (90) days of the exam date. Verbal results will not be provided under any circumstance. Students will receive an email from ILCO advising when grades are ready on the online ILCO member portal.

Online Examinations

By choosing to write this exam, you hereby acknowledge and agree to be bound by all policies of ILCO.

All examinations become the property of ILCO. All examination records are destroyed 1 year after the examination date.

Appeals

Students writing any ILCO exam will not have the right to appeal their grade. There will not be an opportunity to view your graded exam paper.

Examination Date(s)

There is no option to reschedule your exam. All exam days are final and are disclosed prior to the course registration.

Exam and Refund Policy

The course fee includes the exam fee. Examinations cannot be rescheduled under any circumstances. Course fees are non-refundable beyond the withdrawal deadline indicated on the registration page. Course fees are neither transferable nor deferrable to future course offerings.

There is no post-exam review and appeal process for exams.
