Completed the ILCO Associate Program? Become an ILCO Associate Member!
An Associate Membership with The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (“ILCO”) is a recognition of advanced legal knowledge and professional commitment. This level is reserved for law clerks who have completed ILCO’s Associate Program, in the core courses of Litigation, Corporate, Real Estate, and Estates. Applicants must also have a minimum of three consecutive years of relevant legal work experience and have passed ILCO’s provincial exams. Associate Members are distinguished within the profession and are often seen as leaders in their field.
Qualification
You may be admitted as an Associate Member if you:
- Are in Qualifying Employment for a period of not less than three (3) consecutive years immediately prior to the date of seeking admission;
- Attained the age of twenty-one (21) years;
- Passed the ILCOs Associate examinations
Application Instructions
The membership fee structure is based on a billing period from July 1 to June 30. Membership applications are generally processed each month. The annual fee is not pro-rated.
2024-2025 ILCO Associate Membership Fee: $200.00 + HST = $226.00
Before starting this application, please ensure you have electronic copies of the following documents. These documents will be uploaded as part of the application process.
- Completed and signed Statutory Declaration.
- Resume listing your current and past employment duties as a Law Clerk.
A copy of the diploma(s), transcript(s) or grade report(s).
