Qualifications
You may be admitted as a Student Member if you:
- Have attained the age of eighteen (18) years:
- Are enrolled in a recognized Law Clerk certificate/diploma course or the equivalent thereof offered by a Canadian educational institution or is enrolled in a course in preparation for the Associate Member’s examination or examinations provided by ILCO, at the time of seeking admission as a Student Member.
- Are not in Qualifying Employment at the time of seeking admission as a Student Member.
As soon as a Student Member obtains Qualifying Employment that person shall apply forthwith for admission as an Ordinary Member.
Application Instructions
The membership fee structure is based on a billing period from July 1 to June 30. Membership applications are generally processed each month. The annual fee is not pro-rated.
2024-2025 ILCO Student Membership Fee: $65.00 + HST = $73.45
Before starting this application, please ensure you have an electronic copy of one (1) item from the official documents list below. Students are required to provide proof of enrollment in a Law Clerk or equivalent program. These documents must be uploaded as part of the application process.
- Official Documents:
- Current student timetable,
- Letter from the Office of the Registrar,
- College Transcript, and/or
- Confirmation of enrollment in an Associate level ILCO exam
A student may continue as a Student Member for up to two (2) years following completion of graduation of a Law Clerk program or equivalent, if they are not in Qualifying Employment.
