An Extra-Provincial Membership with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) is tailored for legal professionals working outside Ontario but within Canada. This membership allows law clerks employed in other provinces or territories to connect with ILCO’s professional network and access its educational and development resources.
Qualifications
You may be admitted as an Extra-provincial Member if you:
- In Qualifying Employment, employed in Canada, excluding the Province of Ontario at the time of seeking admission as an Extra-provincial Member;
- Attained the age of eighteen (18) years
Application Instructions
The membership fee structure is based on a billing period from July 1 to June 30. Membership applications are generally processed each month. The annual fee is not pro-rated.
2025-2026 ILCO Extra-Provincial Membership Fee: $185.00 + HST = $209.05
Before starting this application, please ensure you have electronic copies of the following documents. These documents will be uploaded as part of the application process.
- Completed and signed 2025-2026 Statutory Declaration
- Resume listing your current and past employment duties as a Law Clerk.
- A copy of the diploma(s), transcript(s) or grade report(s).
